Tucson artist and landscape designer Greg Corman and metal artist, Tidi Ozer have teamed up to create sculptures and garden art from recycled wood and steel that doubles as a habitat for stingless, solitary, native bees. In the US alone there are more than 4000 species of these native bees! Many of them lack habitat for nesting in urban landscapes. The bees that nest in these bee habitat pieces occur across the US, so they have ecological value everywhere. (The bees that are attracted to these habitats are NOT honeybees and do not sting.) If you want more info on native bees, this is a recommended blog resource from the site.
