Introducing a new multi part in-depth look at what has really caught my eye this passed holiday season: Hand mades on Amazon.
The big bad selling machine of Amazon has been violently neglected by this author for a long time. Finally the offerings have been too good to pass up. I want to let everyone know there are a lot of great finds on Amazon nowadays. It is just too good to ignore.
This first installment is my personal favorite: Jewelry. I always love collecting kooky and unique things that can show my expression and style. The more unique and different the better. I never seem to have enough! Also it is one of the first things people see and the simplest to mix and match.
Here we go. My top 10:
1. Custom Leather Keychain
This started my newest binge. I received one for Christmas with my significant other and my birthdates stamped together. It was a thoughtful way to express love.
The subtly is what I enjoy most. It’s a conversation starter. The Blue Coop Doormakes these it blend in with my key chain, and its functions as a strap for my belt loop, purse, or hook in casa. To look further into it click here.
2. Recycled Vintage Mason Jar Drop Earrings
These are the first pieces of jewelry I added to my wishlist. Bottled Up Designs makes these from recycled material and not to mention they are my favorite color. The antique glass and bottles are reclaimed from the woods and farmlands in Pennsylvania.
They are filled with the glowing aquamarine remains from broken vintage blue mason jars. The glass has been reclaimed, ground and fired. They are a little more than an inch long so they wont dangle too much. To look further into it click here.
3. Chakra Orgone Pendant Necklaces
This set of two crystal necklaces by Crystal Agate are simply gorgeous. They are made with the mixture of 7 Chakra Stones and metals – Clear Quartz, Amethyst, Lapis lazuli, Malachite, Citrine, Red Jasper, and Black Obsidian. They are clear casted in resin and wrapped with copper wire
Subtle is not a trait of these crystals. Hanging from your neck they will surely draw attention and for good reason. They. Are. Flashy. For more click here.
4. Lucky Copper Penny Key Chain
Ok, now this maybe should be higher on my list. Im just a sucker for repurposed coins. Finally a good use for a penny! No need to get rid of them from the currency system. I have seen repurposed pennies for many uses but this one may be the best. Tucker’s Trinkets And Treasures offers a slew of nicely crafted coins repurposed for that perfect Valentine’s or graduation gift.
One amazon reviewer said it best:
“This is my first review because I think they do deserve it. The keychains were amazing, no complains! They look real, they feel as a regular penny and the engraving is great… I ran out of ideas to give to my boyfriend and it turned out as the best present I’ve made for him. GREAT JOB!!”

5. Leather & Sterling Silver Leaf Earrings
A New Grace has a wide selection of repurposed genuine leather earrings. They are mostly teardrop shaped with a metal clasp. I can see these being very popular with the younger crowd (think Coachella or Warped Tour).
They sing to me. They popped out of the page and I couldn’t stop browsing the assortments they offer. They are about 2 1/2 inches in length. I think these are a dream. Click here for more info.
6. African Waist Beads
Possibly the most unique article of jewelry that made this list has to be these Fadik Accessories African Waist Beads. Never have I seen something so unique and fun as these. If you want to flash that sexy summer stomach at the next festival or create some different tan lines laying out soaking up some sun these can be your ticket!
Choose between various waist sizes and a seemingly unlimited amount of color options and you’ll be the next trend setter. The tradition of wearing beads is an age-old one in Africa. They have been worn for varying reasons by royalty for body adornment, deification and decoration. Bring the next trend home here!
7. Engagement Ring Box with Moss
For those that are looking to pop the question the Californians at MUUJEE have created a different way to carry your precious. Enough of the typical square velvet ring boxes. Watch the face of your fiancé light up when you show them this! The box shows you went the extra step and it will be something they can never forget.
The box is walnut and “how about forever?” engraved on the cover. Inside contains a bed of green moss to lay the ring(s) where they will really stand out.
After seeing this I can’t think of a better and funner way to pop the big question. Can you? Click here to make her say, “yes”!
8. Teeny Tiny Personalized Stacking Rings
When I saw these I thought, “should I get these engraved with my dog’s names? Or my daughters?” But surely why not both? They are economical and skinny enough where I can comfortably wear multiple rings with all my children, pawed or not.
Hannah Design makes them out of .925 Sterling Silver with letters only 1mm wide! Super cute and easy to maintain. These are a perfect Mother’s Day present (hint hint!). Click here to personalize your own.
9. Dangle Opal Gemstone Earrings
These Israeli hand crafted earrings are in a league of their own. While they carry a more contemporary look compare to the rest of the pieces listed, I included them because I felt they do belong. I could have featured other pieces, such as their bee or lightning bolts studs.
Adita Jewels has a large collection of uniquely and delicately crafted articles that will make one drool. These are simple yet pop. Opal has always had a special place in my heart (shout out to all the October babies). They are made of Opal and solid gold and are well worth the price. AND they have a 5.0 star rating on Amazon. Nuff said. Click here to see them dangle up close.
10. Die-Pressed Natural Pendants
I had to save the final pieces of jewelry on this list as, to me, possibly my all-time favorites. What makes me oogle the most with this collection is the stunning colors and use REAL pieces of nature. This sunflower piece to the left looks amazing. Browsing through you will see natural butterfly wings and stunning pieces of stone and leaf all on offer.
Bayou Glass Arts presses incredible pendants from anything found in nature. The three I picked out were what I thought to be the most brilliant in the current collection. Each is hand crafted and completely unique based on the article the jeweler finds. The jeweler evens adds a personalized hand written note with each purchase. This is just another small piece of joy added to the whole experience.
They are encased between real glass cabochons so no yellowing with time. Neat! My biggest problem was trying to find ONLY one pendant to wear. They truly are each uniquely gorgeous. Click here for a chance to your custom made pendant!
And there you have it. My latest browses on kooky and unique recycled jewelry. It’s the first of a set of wonderful things you can find on Amazon.com instead of the usual everyday jewelry that can be found almost anywhere else.
